Iran's embassies in Zimbabwe and South Africa responded sarcastically to US President Donald Trump's demand, declaring that Iran "has lost the keys needed to open the Strait of Hormuz".
"We lost the keys," the Iranian embassy in Zimbabwe said in a statement in response to the American leader's ultimatum. The Iranian embassy in South Africa repeated the joke about the keys, writing that it hides them under a vase and that the Strait of Hormuz is open "only to friends".
Earlier, Trump threatened to attack Iran's energy and civil infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz is not opened by April 6.
He published a corresponding message on Truth Social.
