The statue of Cristiano Ronaldo was set on fire

In the hometown of Funchal, the Portuguese striker of Saudi Arabia's "Al-Nasr" club, an unknown person set fire to a bronze statue of the football player, Metro reports.

The vandal filmed the damage to the statue and later posted it on social networks. In the video, a young man pours flammable liquid on the monument, sets it on fire, then dances in front of the fire, writing alongside the video: "This is God's last warning." The Portuguese police arrested the suspect.

The statue, installed in 2014, was previously targeted in 2016 when fans of Lionel Messi wrote "Messi 10" on it in red paint.
