The distinguished coach of Armenia, Edward Vatyan, passed away. This was reported by the press service of the Basketball Federation of Armenia.
"It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Edward Vatyan, one of the distinguished coaches of Armenia, has passed away. Edward Vatyan was born in 1938. He played in the national teams of Armenia, took part in the championships of the USSR, summer spartacadias of the All-Union nations, international tournaments and other competitions.
After finishing his sports career, he continued his activity as a coach, making a great contribution to the development of basketball. Many of his students were included in the Armenian national teams. The farewell will take place on October 31, at 2:00 p.m., in the Rodon funeral hall," the message says.
