Syria's civil defense said 850 civilians had been evacuated from several mainly Kurdish neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafieh in Aleppo, where clashes between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) coalition and government forces continued.
"In response to the dire humanitarian situation in Aleppo and the shelling of several districts by the Kurdish coalition, we have evacuated 850 civilians, mainly from Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafieh districts," the service said in a statement published by the SANA news agency.
In turn, "Syria" TV reported that detainees escaped from a prison controlled by the SDF in the al-Shaqif region. According to the TV channel, some of them fled to areas controlled by the Syrian transitional government.
