The operational command of the Syrian Armed Forces declared the Kurdish regions of Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsood in the north of Aleppo as closed military zones. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Arab Republic in X.
"We are announcing the imposition of a curfew in Ashrafiyeh and Sheikh Maqsood districts on Wednesday, starting at 15:00 local time (the same as Moscow time)," the statement said.
"We call on the civilian population to stay away from the positions occupied by the Kurdish militia units." It states that the authorities have opened humanitarian corridors for civilians to escape in the area of Liramun intersection.
Earlier, the army command accused the Kurdish "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) coalition of disrupting the cease-fire agreement reached on January 6 and resuming shelling of residential areas and government forces in Aleppo.
"All SDF targets in the north of Aleppo become our legitimate targets after continuous treacherous attacks," the message emphasizes.
