China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on all countries to abide by international law and the UN Charter

No country can claim to be an international judge. All states must follow international law and the fundamental goals and principles of the UN Charter, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday, commenting on the situation surrounding the United States and Venezuela.

"China always advocates that all countries should respect the path of development independently chosen by the peoples of other countries, as well as uphold international law and the fundamental goals and principles of the UN Charter. Major countries should play the leading role. no country can act as an international policeman, and no country can claim to be an international judge," Mao Ning said.

He added that China upholds the concept of comprehensive, cooperative and stable security and respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, takes seriously the legitimate security concerns of all countries, and insists on the peaceful settlement of differences and conflicts between states through dialogue and consultation.

"We are ready to cooperate with all countries to protect the authority of international law, resist the law of the jungle, resist interference in internal affairs and jointly protect peace and stability around the world," the diplomat emphasized.
