Hungary expects Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump to meet in Budapest in 2026 to reach an agreement on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced this at a major press conference held in Budapest.
"We hope that the war in Ukraine will end in 2026. At that time, the presidents of the United States and Russia will be able to meet in Budapest, as planned, to conclude a peace agreement," Orbán said, answering the questions of Hungarian and foreign journalists, including a TASS reporter.
At the same time, the prime minister noted that Hungary does not expect Putin to visit the country separately.
"There is no need for it now," added the Prime Minister.
