The US military operation to kidnap Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro is an unacceptable step and is a violation of the country's sovereignty, Chilean President Gabriel Borich said on Saturday.
"Respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries is a red line that should never be crossed," Borich said, EFE reports.
He noted that "today it happened to Venezuela, and tomorrow any other country can appear in its place."
The Chilean president added that he "strongly condemns" Washington's actions. In particular, he considers it wrong that "a foreign state wants to directly control the territory of Venezuela".
