Blinken called for investigating possible election violations in Georgia

The head of the US State Department, Anthony Blinken, called for an investigation into possible election violations in Georgia.

"We join calls for a full investigation into all reports of election violations," Blinken said in a statement released by the State Department.

At the same time, as noted by Blinken, international and local observers admitted that the elections in Georgia were generally held in accordance with the norms.

The Central Electoral Commission of Georgia finished counting the votes of all polling stations on Sunday. According to the results of the processing of the ballots, the ruling "Georgian Dream" gathered 53.91 percent of the votes.
Four opposition parties also entered the parliament, receiving a total of 37.78%.
