A criminal case regarding the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements was opened after an accident with a bus in St. Petersburg, where people were injured; a search is being carried out at the carrier company, reports the city State Service of the Russian Federation.
Earlier it was reported that on Sunday, as a result of an accident between several cars and a bus on Vosstaniya Square, 10 people were injured, including three children. Of the 10 victims, 9 people were taken to hospitals. One child with a bruised leg was treated on the spot, two children were taken to the Children's City Hospital named after. Rauchfus, after which he was discharged home. Of the seven adults delivered to hospitals, based on the results of examination and assistance, five people were sent for outpatient treatment. Two people remain in hospitals.
“The Investigative Department for the Central District of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet security requirements),” the message says.
According to the investigation, the accident occurred with the participation of a regular bus from the St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise "Passenger Avtotrans", the driver of which drove through a prohibiting traffic light and collided with cars. As a result, 11 bus passengers, including 3 children, received injuries of varying severity.
It is reported that investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. “A search is being carried out at the carrier company, the necessary forensic examinations have been ordered, victims and eyewitnesses of the incident are being questioned,” the department reports.
