On October 20, Armenian Ambassador to Serbia Ashot Hovakimyan participated in the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade at the memorial complex dedicated to the liberators of Belgrade.
The event was attended by the Minister of Defense of Serbia Bratislav Gasic and a number of high-ranking officials, ambassadors accredited to Serbia and many residents of Belgrade.
It is announced by the press service of the embassy. Ambassador Ashot Hovakimyan and Embassy Counselor, Head of the Belgrade Office Hayk Khemchyan laid a wreath at the monument to those who died during the liberation of Belgrade, and then, accompanied by a well-known Serbian politician, our compatriot Aris Movsesyan, paid tribute and laid flowers to the martyred Armenian officers of the Soviet Army, Major Mkrtich Liloyan and to the graves of Captain Hayrapet Karapetyan. Ambassador Ashot Hovakimyan was also present at the ceremonial session held at the National Theater of Serbia, where Ana Brnabić, the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, delivered the main speech.
