Google will invest 5 billion euros in the development of IT infrastructure in Belgium

Google has announced a $ 5 billion of euros in the development of its infrastructure in Belgium over the next two years.

The company will expand its data processing center in Saint-Gislen, creating 300 permanent jobs, in parallel with about 600 existing surveys.

The investment aims to develop artificial intelligence technologies and meet the growing demand for Google Cloud. Increasing the data center capacity will also help support other services in the company, including maps, Google Search and Workspace.

Google also promised to finance the renewable energy projects in Belgium with a total capacity of 365 MW.

According to The Wall Street Journal, American technology giants actively increase their investments in European data processing centers. Google has previously announced the introduction of 5 billion pounds ($ 6.68 billion) in the UK for two years. It is expected that this investment will create more than 8,000 jobs.
