The name Artsakh is rarely used in the USA. such wording can have an effect. International scholar Suren Sargsyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
In particular, he wrote: "Today, about 2 weeks before the election, Trump made this post about Artsakh: "Kamala Harris did NOTHING when 120,000 Armenian Christians were horribly persecuted and forcibly displaced from Artsakh. Christians around the world will not be safe if Kamala Harris is President of the United States of America.
When I am president, I will protect the persecuted Christians, I will work to stop the violence and ethnic cleansing, and we will establish peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.” The name Artsakh is rarely used in the United States. Among those users are former Republican presidential candidates Ramaswamy, Kennedy, former Democratic presidential candidate and now Republican Tulsi Gebhardt. Today, they are all from Trump's team, and I do not rule out that they could have had an influence on such wording."
