A family has no information about the health condition of Vigen Euljjoyjjyan in a hunger strike

Vigen Euljekjian, who is in the Azerbaijani prison, has been on hunger strike for 28 days. Relatives have no information about his health condition.

"Pastinfo"In a conversation with "Armenpress" Luciana Minasyan, a lawyer living in Argentina, said they intend to address medical assistance directly to the Azerbaijani authorities. "The point is that his friend in the same cell with Vigen also needs medical care. His health is extremely serious, but the family refuses to talk about it. Perhaps they are afraid of revenge against their loved ones in Baku, "Minasyan said.

Asked, they expect an expectation from the Armenian government, the lawyer noted that he had the opportunity to communicate with the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs within the framework of the support of Vigen Euljjoyan's family.

"In 2020, Armenia decided to help the families of prisoners of war. But over time, gradually, that support became difficult. Difficulties deepened especially when the forced deportation of 120,000 people in Artsakh took place, as a result of which the government began to meet their needs. The support of prisoners of war and displaced people began to become a burden for the government, and that support was slowly decreasing.

Meanwhile, we followed some of the families and saw the weight that arose when the household fought with the family. I continued to ask for this issue to the Human Rights Defender and the Ministry on the possibility of providing support.

Vigen's family has been in a difficult situation for a long time. Vigen's wife, Linda, could not provide for her mother's oncological treatment. At the moment, we have not received the payments of June and July. However, the family is freedom, they have helped them with the support of the Armenian Orphanage Union. And any information about Vigen's health condition is not available at this time. In addition, any medical care is not available for captives, "Minasyan said.

It should be reminded that 46-year-old Euljjjian is a citizen of Armenia and Lebanon, which was abducted in Nagorno Karabakh a day after the 44-day Artsakh war between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He is one of the six civic hostages held by Azerbaijan.

This is the least third hunger strike in recent years. In 2023 he went on a hunger strike after his captives refused to let him speak Arabic in Arabic, insisting that he would talk to him in Armenian, in a language that his wife did not understand.

In May of this year, he announced a two-week hunger strike, as he was not allowed to call his wife at all. After that, he was allowed to call his wife once a month. In June, his phone call, according to some information, became possible with the intervention of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

During the five years of captivity, Enjuljjjian has been subjected to physical and psychological violence. According to the Truth and Justice Center, when Euljjjian had been captured for the first time, he was beaten before the loss of consciousness. He was also subjected to false execution. During television interrogations, there are burns on Euljekjyan's hand, which has previously tattooed, which implies that it was burned.

Euljekjian captives, apparently, deprived him of proper food and medical care due to digestive disorders, which led to weight loss and pain.
