The Supreme Judicial Council signed a decision on October 17, which states:
"According to the fact that Judge Gevorg Harutyuni Balyan of the Court of First Instance of Ararat and Vayots Dzor Marzes will turn 65 on October 18, 2024 and guided by Article 166, Part 8 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, 89 of the Constitutional Law "Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia" According to Article 1, Part 1, Clause 9, Article 160, Part 1, Clause 2, Article 160, Part 3, and Article 94, Part 1, the Supreme Judicial Council decides:
1. In connection with the expiration of the term of office, from October 18, 2024, the powers of Judge Gevorg Harutyunyi Balyan of the Court of First Instance of Ararat and Vayots Dzor marzes shall be deemed terminated."
Let's remind that in 2023, the SC issued a reprimand, satisfying the petition of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Grigor Minasyan.
