The Armenian Sambo team won 9 medals: 2 silver and 7 bronze at the three-day World Sambo Championship for teenagers, young people and youth held in Larnaca, Cyprus.

In the most dramatic moment of the tournament, the Armenian athlete Mher Ohanyan fought for the bronze medal in the 71 kg weight class with Aliyev Khudabaghish from Azerbaijan.

The Armenian athlete "tortured" the Azerbaijani athlete on the mat for several minutes, after which Aliyev voluntarily asked to stop the wrestling, as a result, Mher Ohanyan awarded the victory to the RA sambo team.
