The new Syrian authorities have demanded the militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) to lay down their weapons

The new Syrian authorities have demanded the militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) located in the north of the country to lay down their weapons unconditionally.

Turkish pro-government Hürriyet newspaper informs about thisTASS.

According to him, two meetings were held between the representatives of the new authorities in Damascus and the PKK.

To them, the emissaries of the PKK and its Syrian branch, the People's Self-Defense Forces (SNS), demanded that a division or army corps in the established Syrian army lay down their weapons, as well as equally share the oil fields in the north of the Arab Republic, which are jointly controlled by the United States.

"The new authorities did not even discuss this issue, making it a condition for the PKK-SNS to lay down their arms unconditionally," said newspaper columnist Abdelkadir Selvi.
