The monarch will then meet Labor leader Keir Starmer, who will be tasked with forming a government. The new prime minister is expected to make a speech in Downing Street at around 12:20 local time. The British Parliament's House of Commons elections took place on July 4. According to preliminary data, the Labor Party has secured at least 411 seats in the 650-seat House of Commons, obtaining the majority needed to form a new government. The Conservative Party, which has been in power since 2010, currently has only 119 seats.
